Restylane® is a filler made of hyaluronic acid, which already exists in the human body. The hyaluronic acid that comprises Restylane is biodegradable and compatible with the human body. This means that there is almost no risk of the body having a negative reaction to the injections. This, along with its long-lasting results, is a major advantage to this treatment.
Cosmetic Surgeon Dr. Chhatre uses Restylane® to treat fine lines and wrinkles around the face. Its recommended use is for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles - usually around the nose and mouth. When injected into the face, Restylane can help to produce a smoother appearance by "filling in" wrinkles. After the injections, the appearance of facial wrinkles is significantly reduced.
Dr. Chhatre performs Restylane® injections at Summit Plastic Surgery and Med Spa as an outpatient procedure. Before the procedure, a local injection is given to completely numb the surrounding area, so you will feel as little discomfort as possible. Since the procedure only requires a few simple injections, patients usually experience a sensation no more that a pinprick. The results for Restylane are immediate. It will look a little red for a day or so. But, you'll enjoy up to six months of beautiful results. During the first few days you may experience some minor discomfort and redness, and its best if you avoid sun exposure and high heat.
