Breast Augmentation with Inframammary Incisions
An inframammary incision is a type of incision used in the placement of implants during breast augmentation surgery. The inframammary incision is placed in the natural crease under the breast.
The incision is made in that area to provide for proper implant placement, as well as to reduce scar visibility. There are many other advantages to inframammary incisions, including:
- Allows me to work close to the breast, providing optimal visibility while working
- Does not disturb the breast tissue, or the milk ducts, posing less risk of damage to those areas.
- Does not interfere with the nipple sensation
- Provides less conspicuous scarring
Most of our breast augmentation surgeries are performed by inframammary incisions and are done in the privacy of our own Ambulatory Surgical Center – the first of its kind in Missouri. If you would like to learn more about inframammary incisions at the Summit Plastic Surgery and Med Spa, please contact our breast augmentation surgeon Dr. Chhatre at Summit Plastic Surgery and Med Spa to schedule your free initial consultation with Dr. Chhatre's nurse.
