As we age, gravity begins to take its toll and certain parts of our face tend to droop, sag, and develop wrinkles. This is usually most noticeable in the neck and on the sides of the face in the jowl areas.
Dr. Chhatre can perform a facelift to treat these signs of aging. Plastic surgeon Dr. Chhatre uses only the most modern facelift techniques to provide excellent results by tightening both the skin and the deeper tissues of the face and neck. Called an "SMAS face lift" (SMAS being the sheet of muscle and connective tissue on the cheek that contributes to facial expression), Dr. Chhatre can reposition skin and the underlying muscle of your cheek to correct jowls and skin laxity. This procedure is modified for each patient individually to provide the best results.
Usually done on an outpatient basis, and under IV sedation to minimize discomfort, most patients experience very little pain following the surgery. In fact, most of Dr. Chhatre’s patients return to work approximately 2 weeks after surgery. A facelift is a safe and effective way to rejuvenate your appearance and self-confidence.
A facelift is often combined with other facial procedures such as brow lift, eyelid surgery or facial liposuction depending on the individual needs of each patient.
